St. Louis International Film Festival Benefit Screening of The Light of the Moon

The Light of the Moon follows a young woman’s story as she tries to recover and rebuild her life after being raped. All proceeds from this screening, presented as part of the 26th annual Whittaker Film Festival, will benefit Safe Connections and the YWCA in their work to end sexual violence.

The Upside, produced by the Weinstein Company, was originally slated to be screened but has since been replaced with The Light of the Moon. Following the very serious sexual assault allegations brought against Harvey Weinstein, this provides an opportunity to start an important conversation about sexual assault. Immediately following the screening, Safe Connections is hosting a panel discussion. Panelists include:

  • Susan Kidder, Executive Director, Safe Connections
  • Adrian Bracy, CEO, YWCA Metro St. Louis
  • Sharon Tucci, Board Member, Cinema St. Louis
  • Autumn Eakin, Webster University graduate and cimenatographer, The Light of the Moon
